AkiDwA reported on alleged sexual harassment [of women and girls asylum-seekers] by some accommodation centre residents, management and staff or by local men and on alleged complaints, which had met with resistance from authorities to resolve situations satisfactorily recommended that a gender perspective be applied to reception and asylum policies and procedures, through the introduction of gender guidelines in asylum processes; a mandatory code of conduct and comprehensive gendered cultural training programme for people working with individuals seeking asylum and a separate women-only accommodation centre.
