Recommendation
Several stakeholders ... recommended raising the legal age of marriage for girls to 18 years and continuing efforts to put in place laws prohibiting child marriage. UPR-BCU recommended implement the Multisectoral Strategy for the Abandonment of Child Marriage, and conducting, in consultation with relevant stakeholders, awareness raising and education programmes aimed at addressing the negative implications of child marriage, targeting community and religious leaders.
