The United Nations country team recommended stepping up interventions and communication to reduce risk factors for gender-based violence and strengthening economic empowerment and socioeconomic and educational reintegration programmes for girls and women, to strengthen women’s economic power and eliminate their economic dependency. It also recommended actively involving political parties in the implementation mechanisms for the law on quotas, in order to promote women’s political development, and raising awareness on the procedures furthering women’s political participation in Mali.
