Recommendation
Several stakeholders recommended that Burundi improve detention conditions, in accordance with international standards, to address issues with hygiene, health care and food and to combat torture and other ill-treatment. The Burundi Association of People who Used Drugs, JS1 and JS2 made similar recommendations regarding drug users in prison and pregnant and breastfeeding women. [Para 41]
