Romania upholds its position that a revision of the anti-discrimination law is not necessary, after careful assessment by the National Council for Combatting Discrimination. Under the European Convention on Human Rights and European Union law, in light of the case-law at European and domestic level, acts of discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation fall within the scope of the protection of the national anti-discrimination law.
