Recommendation
CEDAW recommended that Pakistan amend the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance and take measures to discourage and prohibit polygamy and ensure the protection of the economic rights of women in polygamous marriages, ensure that the family laws of the different religious communities provided for financial protection for women upon divorce and amend or repeal all discriminatory provisions in laws that provided for unequal rights of women regarding marriage, divorce, guardianship, inheritance and property.
