Recommendation
UNFPA (video statement) welcomed the fact that several recommendations were accepted by Liberia in the areas of gender equality, women and girls’ empowerment, reproductive rights, and the prioritization of access to sexual and reproductive health in the development agenda. It acknowledged the measures taken to integrate sexuality education into the National Curriculum Reform process. It welcomed the inclusion of youth development as a priority in the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity & Development (PAPD), and measures to address sexual and gender-based violence. Finally, it committed to work with the Government to achieve the three zeros: zero preventable maternal deaths, zero unmet need for family planning and zero gender-based violence. [Para 753]
