WCC was concerned at high rates of post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the
internal conflict, including major depressive disorders and suicidal tendencies among the population, particularly among victims of sexual violence. WCC recommended to provide psychiatric care for the treatment of sexual violation, post-traumatic disorders, depression and substance abused, as a core component of the recovery and rehabilitation programme for the Liberian population.
