The International Planned Parenthood Federation commended Kiribati for supporting the recommendations to: revise the family life education curriculum and integrate it into all school curriculum; incorporate a comprehensive approach to sexual and reproductive health into the next National Development Plan (2021-2025), including family planning programmes that are accessible to all, and allocate sufficient resources in the annual budget to ensure effective delivery. It also welcomed Kiribati’s commitment to implementing the national media campaigns in all schools to eliminate gender stereotypes and negative social norms that were the root causes of gender-based discrimination and violence.
