GCNH noted that the content of the topics covered under social studies failed to discuss critical sexual and reproductive health rights issues in detail such as sexually transmitted infections, youth pregnancy and abortion. They further noted that the lack of open discussion about sex leads to youth having very limited knowledge on sexual behaviour and activities. [Para 50]

    Para 121) The Gender Ministry organized sensitization workshops on teenage pregnancy and adolescent reproductive health to out-of-school youth and those who work as head-porters in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Western and Greater Accra Regions. 1,200 persons participated in these workshops. Para 149) Since 2019, the GOG, with support from UNICEF and other partners, has embarked on an initiative to strengthen the Integrated Social Services (ISS) in line with the system strengthening approach. ISS supports addressing multi-dimensional poverty and vulnerability by linking health, child protection, alternative care, gender-based violence, and social protection services. An integral part of ISS is the Social Welfare Information Management System (SWIMS), a digital case management system to document, report and facilitate intersectoral referrals of child protection cases.
