The Criminal Code provides for a series of provisions which address the domestic violence, also defines the aggravating circumstances when the victim is a minor, a pregnant woman, as well as the consequences brought about by the committal of the criminal offense. The continuous amendments to the Criminal Code have envisaged not only specific provisions to protect children and women against ill-treatment, sexual abuse, trafficking, prostitution, pornography, indecent acts, but also the legal developments in continuation have laid down a considerable increase of the amount of punishment against the perpetrators of these criminal offenses.
