Early marriages also remain a problem in some remote regions of the country, which has negative impact on education of girls and women, their active participation in social life, and protection of their rights. Ombudsman recommended that in cases when an adult enters into a marriage with an under-aged girl, criminal responsibility be attached to the adult. [Para 6]
