Azerbaijan should ensure that all women who are victims of domestic violence have access to immediate means of redress and protection and to a sufficient number of safe shelters, as well as to legal aid, and that public officials are fully familiar with all forms of violence against women and applicable legal provisions. CESCR recommended that training be provided to law enforcement officials and judges on the serious and criminal nature of domestic violence. [Para 16; CEDAW, CESCR]
