Recommendation
The United Nations country team recommended that Trinidad and Tobago undertake prison reform by reviewing and updating the Prisons (Amendment) Act 2014 and operationalizing the national budget and other sectoral mechanisms, in order to provide standard quality health care for all and sexual and reproductive health services and supplies, particularly for women and girls in detention institutions, and to review and upgrade facilities, thereby providing humane conditions for all inmates.
