Recommendation
The United Nations country team recommended that Trinidad and Tobago prioritize gender-based violence and increase budgetary allocation to the Gender and Child Affairs Division and the Domestic Violence Hotline (800-SAVE); that it adopt and implement, in a consultative manner, a national gender policy with special measures for the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence, regardless of legal or migratory status, nationality, gender identity or sexual orientation; and that it approve and implement the national strategic action plan on gender-based and sexual violence.
