CEDAW ... recommended that Oman enact legislation and/or further amend the Penal Code to define and criminalize all forms of gender-based violence against women, ensure the prosecution and punishment of perpetrators of crimes committed in the name of so-called “honour”, encourage women who were victims to report their cases, ensure that those reports, including of domestic violence, were duly investigated and prosecuted and strengthen support services for victims.
