    Peru agrees with the concept and importance of the enforceability of economic, social and cultural rights to ensure their full enjoyment and exercise, and has been taking steps to achieve that objective. These include the adoption of a resolution of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), which expressed its support for the possible accession by Peru to the OP-ICESCR.

    Thus, Peru will promote dialogue and public debate on the adoption of the OP-ICESCR.

    El Estado a la fecha cuenta con una Política Nacional de Igualdad de Género, siendo su horizonte temporal para su implementación hasta el 2030, y cuenta con 6 objetivos prioritarios: i) Reducir la violencia hacia las mujeres; ii) Garantizar el ejercicio de los derechos a la salud sexual y reproductiva de las mujeres; iii) Garantizar el acceso y participación de las mujeres en espacios de toma de decisiones; iv) Garantizar el ejercicio de los derechos económicos y sociales de las mujeres; v) Reducir las barreras institucionales que obstaculizan la igualdad en los ámbitos público y privado entre hombres y mujeres; y, vi) Reducir la incidencia de los patrones socioculturales discriminatorios en la población.     CRC in 2006 and CEDAW in 2007 welcomed measures taken to combat sexual exploitation and trafficking of children and women. Nevertheless, CRC remained concerned that a reportedly very high number of children are victims of sexual exploitation and violence, and recommended that trafficking be defined in criminal legislation according to the Palermo Protocol definition. CEDAW called for the full enforcement of anti-trafficking legislation. Both Committees recommended full implementation of the national action plan and other measures to combat trafficking. [Para 21]
