    El Estado a la fecha cuenta con una Política Nacional de Igualdad de Género, siendo su horizonte temporal para su implementación hasta el 2030, y cuenta con 6 objetivos prioritarios: i) Reducir la violencia hacia las mujeres; ii) Garantizar el ejercicio de los derechos a la salud sexual y reproductiva de las mujeres; iii) Garantizar el acceso y participación de las mujeres en espacios de toma de decisiones; iv) Garantizar el ejercicio de los derechos económicos y sociales de las mujeres; v) Reducir las barreras institucionales que obstaculizan la igualdad en los ámbitos público y privado entre hombres y mujeres; y, vi) Reducir la incidencia de los patrones socioculturales discriminatorios en la población. Estos objetivos se materializan a través de 52 servicios que permiten la actuación interinstitucional de 21 entidades de la administración pública.

    Centro de Promoción y Defensa de los Derechos Sexuales y Reproductivos welcomed the accepted recommendations with regards to the sexual and reproductive rights of LGBT people and recognized the efforts made by Peru to include them for the first time in public policies and to punish violence against them. However, it regretted that the new National Plan for Human Rights did not even include the judicial protection of non-heterosexual couples or the gender identities of trans people. Centro de Promoción y Defensa de los Derechos Sexuales y Reproductivos was preoccupied by the context in which the commitments of the State of Peru would be implemented as the legislative power was the principal opponent to gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights and equality for LGBT people.
    Explanation
    Peru reiterated its commitment to continue working in order to advance in this subject. Peru stated that the country had accepted about six recommendations regarding sexual and reproductive rights.

    Peru agrees with the concept and importance of the enforceability of economic, social and cultural rights to ensure their full enjoyment and exercise, and has been taking steps to achieve that objective.
